New Work: Simply Abstract

Abstract in Chrome
The subject of Reflection in Chrome is aptly described by the title. What you see is a close-up and cropped view of the grille of a very valuable 1938 Talbot Lago, parked on the green grass at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, America's premier automobile exhibit. In the painting, there is nothing but metallic chrome - all the color and patterns come from the surrounding landscape all reflected in the photorealistic abstraction of the grille. This painting also addresses a common question of how I paint chrome. The answer always lies in sharp edges, fine brushes and the colors of the world around - the chrome in itself has no color at all.
