Chrome and Blue Skies
In Blue Skies and Chrome, a small Cadillac bumper bullet is transformed well beyond its size into the 4' x 8' diptych. Distorted, cropped and enlarged, this relatively minute car part is transformed into a giant auto landscape - quite bold and powerful. There is something about a very large painting - it has a dominant presence, but in this case the oversized, realistic details seem equally impressive. And while you are taking all this in, you can notice that the entire composition really is one very large reflection.
