This grid piece, along with Anxiety of Influence, focuses on artists as iconic figures. Their works hang in museums and also decorate the walls of popular culture from wallpaper, handbags to posters and postcards. Both pieces are organized in the anti-narrative grid form.
Deconstruction in Day-Glo borrows the term deconstruction from post-modern Artspeak as a means of breaking down information. Day-Glo paint originated in the pop culture of the 60's and is seen now in toys and all sorts of paper and plastic products
I chose 20th century art icons and once again include Jackson Pollack. The other artists are Georgia OKeefe, "Poppies", Roy Lichenstein, "Whaaam", Andy Warhol, "Marilyn", Robert Indiana, "Love", and George Rodrigue "The Blue Dog".
